Dr Bridget Kakuwa-Kasongamulilo holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Communication from the University of South Africa. She conducted a ground-breaking study on how film can drive community-level dialogue and behaviour change in Zambia. Recognised for its practical and scholarly impact, the research introduced a participatory framework for using film to address sensitive cultural issues and foster social transformation through inclusive storytelling and local engagement. She also holds a Master’s in Communication for Development (MCD), a Bachelor of Arts in Library & Information Science (BALIS), a Diploma in Secondary School Teaching in French & Civic Education, and a Certificate in Diplomatic Practice, Protocol & Public Relations. She is a certified Prince2 Project Management expert. Dr Kakuwa-Kasongamulilo has published on Knowledge Management and communication strategies used to promote regional integration in Africa, education for sustainable development, WASH, HIV & AIDS, Education, Climate Change, and Agriculture. Her professional interests are in knowledge and information management, participatory communication, Agriculture, climate change, water, sanitation, and hygiene education, organizational learning, People with disabilities, and children broadcasting /television and film production. She has worked as Knowledge Management, Partnerships and Communication Advisor/Manager for FHI 360, Education Development Academy (EDC), and John Snow Inc. She also worked as a Regional Communications Officer for the Feed the Future Harmonized Seed Regulations Project in Southern Africa. To kick-start her career in information management, she worked as an Electronic Librarian for the Regional Integration Support Programme at the COMESA Secretariat in Zambia. Before joining the multi-sectoral field, she worked as a secondary school teacher of French and civic education. This makes her an excellent public speaker and highly sought-after facilitator and communicator.
